METACUT Series

 

METKON chop cutting machines METACUT 250 and METACUT 350 are designed for wet cutting of large and small, regularly or irregularly shaped workpieces of metallic, ceramic or composite materials.

METACUT M250 has the capacity to cut solid sections up to 90 mm in diameter. The cutting capacity of METACUT M350 is 130 mm. The side access port permits the sectioning of extra-long workpieces.

Includes a standard set of cutting consumables composed of;  An assortement of 20 cut-off wheels with 350 mm dia. And 5 lt of Metcool cooling fluid.

SERVOCUT Series

 

SERVOCUT is the perfect choice for a wide range of materials and for heavy duty cutting applications. It combines the two well proven cutting techniques into the same machine:

 

Chop cutting: The specimen is clamped and the cut-off wheel approaches the specimen via a rocker arm.

Table-feed cutting: Feeding the clamped specimen into a rotating cut-off wheel using a slotted feed table.

 

The workpiece to be cut can be accurately positioned in 3 axis which is displayed digitally on the front panel.

SERVOCUT is available in three main sizes and in automatic and/or manual versions:

 

SERVOCUT 301: Medium Size (cut-off wheel dia.of 250/300 mm)

SERVOCUT 401: Large Size (cut-off wheel dia.of 350/400 mm)

SERVOCUT 501: Very Large Size (cut-off wheel dia.of 450/500 mm)

 

All Servocut series have variable rotational speed option for optimum cutting, and cutting different various of materials without changing cut off wheel.

Available with optional Cutting Methods including Diagonal Cut, Step Cut and Segment Cut.

 

Diagonal Cut: for increased cutting capacity

Step Cut: for extra hard materials

Segment Cut: for difficult workpieces.

 

Servocut Series includes a standard set of cutting consumables composed of;  An assortement of 20 cut-off wheels and 5 lt of Metcool cooling fluid.

Automatic High Speed  Precision Cut-off  Machine, Programmable with 3,8" HMI touch screen control, with moving table feed system, compact cutting motor, with variable cut-off wheel speed from  500 to 5000 rpm, automatic feeding with adjustable feed speed, motorised  positioning system with digital readout on the LCD, library of cutting programs for different materials, with built-in  recirculation cooling unit. Mounting

After cutting the specimen, the next step is mounting. The aim of mounting is to handle small or odd shaped specimens and to protect fragile materials, thin layers or coating during preparation as well as to provide good edge retention. Mounting produces specimens with uniform size so that it is easier to handle in automatic holders for further preparation steps.

Basically, two metods are available:
Hot Mounting

Cold Mounting

In hot mounting, the specimen is mounted under heat and pressure with a hot mounting press.

Cold mounting is preferred for samples which are sensitive to damage from heat and pressure (like coatings, PCB, etc.) Cold mounting resins are easy to use and require mixing which is then poured into a mould and allowed to set.

Programmable Automatic Mounting Press with one cylinder, 5,7" HMI touch screen control, program based mounting sequences, electro hydraulic pressure (requires no air), pressure upto 300 bar,  temperature upto 200 C, operation time upto 59:99  minutes, short cycle time, thermostatically   controlled heating power of 1250W, automatic cooling cycle with  two modes of cooling rates(fast cooling and slow cooling), programmable preheating and preloading, selectable mould sizes from 25 mm to 50 mm, audible  warning  signal. VACUMET

 

Vacuum Impregnation Unit for cold mounting. Especially designed for embedding and impregnation of porous materials under vacuum. In addition, glueing of specimens to glass slides for thin section analysis is possible. Vacumet is very simple to operate and ensures efficient impregnation.

 

 

Grinding & Polishing

 

In order to obtain a highly reflective surface that is free from scratches and deformation, the specimens must be carefully grinded and polished before they can be examined under the microscope. Metkon offers high quality instruments and consumables for achieving this goal.

 

FORCIPOL

 

FORCIPOL Series of instruments are available as Single wheel and Dual wheel Units (200/250/300 mm wheel size).   Both single or double wheel versions are available with constant, dual or  infinitely  variable rotating speeds with digital display. This allows the setting of the optimum speed for each individual preparation process.

When the number of specimens to be prepared increases, FORCIPOL instruments can be fitted with FORCIMAT automatic head for automation. FORCIMAT automatic head provides high rate of sample preparation and frees the operator from the grinding and polishing procedures.

All FORCIPOL series includes a standard set of grinding & polishing consumables; an assortment of 100 grinding papers(various grits), 5 polishing cloths, Diamond suspensions and lubricant
